Smiles and Roses
Congratulations on the birth of your child! What a wonderful time this is for you and your family. Of course, there is nothing more important than your baby’s health – both now and for years to come.
Oral health is a vital part of a child’s development. February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, and we have created “Smiles & Roses” to increase awareness of the important steps that you can take to ensure that your baby grows up with healthy teeth and gums.

Helping you access a dentist
Even if you or another adult in your family is without dental insurance, Dental Access Lancaster County can help you find a dentist who will help you. And what better way to set a positive example for your child than for you and the other adults in your household to take care of your teeth?
SJHM description of services and school schedule
Since 2004, St. Joseph Health Ministries has provided free dental care to Lancaster County children who otherwise might not see a dentist. Our “Brush. Brush. Smile!” program features two dental practices on wheels – the “Brush Brush Buses” – that visit each of the county’s school districts. In addition to providing care, we provide families with information on how to seek follow-up care at regular dentist.
We might even be coming to a school near where you live. These are our scheduled stops through the end of the 2011-12 school year:
Lititz Elementary
Reamstown Elementary
Highland Elementary
George Washington Elementary
Blue Ball Elementary
Price Elementary
Akron Elementary
Salisbury Elementary
Brecknock Elementary
Maytown Elementary
Strasburg Elementary
East High Elementary
Fritz Elementary
Smith Middle School
