SJHM Brings Oral Health Education to Manheim Central School District

Jan. 27-29 at Stiegel Elementary School

LANCASTER, Pa. (Jan. 23, 2009) – The children’s oral health initiative “Brush. Brush. Smile!®” is best known for its two mobile dental clinics.

But in addition to providing free dental care, Brush. Brush. Smile!® brings oral health education to classrooms throughout Lancaster County’s 16 school districts.

The next destination: Stiegel Elementary School in Manheim Central School District, Tuesday to Thursday (Jan. 27-29).

In multiple 45-minute sessions, students in kindergarten through grade 4 will learn about the importance of brushing, flossing and otherwise taking care of their teeth.

The news media is encouraged to cover the oral health education sessions at Stiegel. To coordinate a school visit, please contact Neal Goulet at 717-566-4541.

Since its debut in 2004, Brush. Brush. Smile!® has provided nearly $2.5 million worth of free dental care and oral health education to more than 16,000 children in 16 school districts.

St. Joseph Health Ministries (www.sjhm.org) improves the health of children in need within Lancaster County.
